The first ever Pogopalooza was held in Lincoln, Nebraska in the summer of 2004. The event was the brainchild of Dan Brown. After years of online discussion of a nationwide pogo gathering, Dan stepped forward with the plans for Pogopalooza. This event was a week's worth of pogoing around Lincoln, culminating in a public demonstration. While the demonstration itself took place in a humble church parking lot and drew only a small crowd, the week still went down in history as the first ever public gathering of extreme pogo enthusiasts.
